After nearly 9 years working with ARDELL Yacht Brokerage here in Fort Lauderdale, I decided to open my own brokerage and charter firm specializing in medium and large motor and sailing yachts, as well as custom re-fit project management and new construction. Although Ocean Yachting International opened for business in September with a rush, the search for suitable premises was side-lined because of ‘boat-business’. With the first boat sold, a brand new Hatteras 77’ enclosed fly-bridge sport-fisherman headed for Dubai, it was time to take a breather and find a ‘real’ office, a place to meet and greet clients.

I am pleased to announce that doors opened on October 1st 2009 in the Bank of America Building, at 901 South East 17th Street, Suite 210, here in Fort Lauderdale. I chose the location as 17th Street is undoubtedly the best known address in the world for international yachting. Fort Lauderdale is aptly considered to be the “Yachting Capital of the World” so I felt it important for my clients that I am in the centre of the action. Here at O.Y.I. we will remain focused and concentrated on just a handful of clients each year and we hope to have you as one of those clients.

We are also close to confirming the sale of a 2nd HATTERAS 77’ for a U.A.E. client, and are working hard on a project for a 51metre Explorer Yacht to be designed by long time friend and associate Ron Holland, of Ron Holland and Associates.
A busy start for Ocean Yachting International and our clients. We fully expect 2010 to be a banner year all round.
