The "Big One", FLIBS (Oct. 29-Nov. 2) is expected to be a great Show coming hot on the heals of the successful 2009 Monaco Boat Show. Entries are strong and the "big boats" are arriving in Fort Lauderdale from their trans-Atlantic crossings after the European Summer. Many of the yachts shown at Monaco will be in Lauderdale, including many yachts fresh to the US market.
FLIBS is always the ultimate litmus test for the state of the marine market, and if indications are right, buyers will still be in the driver’s seat regarding prices. Many sellers have adjusted their prices significantly, but those that are committed to selling, especially if a new build is on its way, will be willing to deal, as this is the last major showcasing of boats for 2009. "Sellers beware", buyers are expecting to get some good deals done at Fort Lauderdale.
