Ocean Yachting International (OYI) is pleased to announce the signing of their first "new-build" construction over 50 meters. The 51 metre full displacement vessel is being built by Heesen Yachts for a long term client of OYI who is very much a "hands-on" owner. The yacht will feature a very large gymnasium located where the on-deck master is normally found. In lieu of that, the master will be located where the sky lounge is usually positioned. In her present configuration she will be a five stateroom vessel carrying 12 guests. At a later stage it was thought that the yacht might become a six stateroom under different ownership, so the gymnasium space is configured for later easy conversion to a second master or VIP stateroom.

The yacht is a development of the well-known Heesen-built yachts Man Of Steel and Sky, designed by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects in Holland. Omega have been very influential in the current "look" and styling of Heesen Yachts and continue the strong association with this newest vessel.

This trend towards the master as a full size suite facing aft on the sky-deck is becoming a feature amongst several new builds of recent years, allowing an owner to have a much more pleasant viewing area available for his own use, along with dramatically increased interior and exterior space. This was a trend very much developed by designer Ron Holland in the Explorer Yacht "Marco Polo". OYI will continue to advise clients with new-builds planned during this coming year, and are in discussion with a European client interested in a larger version of the ISA Yachts Superyacht, "Mary-Jean II", launched in time for the 2010 Monaco Yacht Show, where she was arguably “Best In Show”.

With strong associations with builders such as Heesen and ISA as well as designers Ron Holland Design and Omega Architects, and other yacht designers, OYI is well positioned to advise buyers contemplating new builds for either power or sail.
